The operation of the second MC-21-310 aircraft with domestic control system actuators was tested at the Gromov Flight Research Institute airfield in Zhukovsky. The crew checked the aircraft's stability and handling.
Anatoly Gaidansky, Director of the Engineering Center of PJSC "Yakovlev", which is part of the United Aircraft Corporation of the Rostec State Corporation, emphasized that adding a second aircraft to the certification flights will speed up the testing program.
Our main task is to complete the entire scope of testing under the import substitution program and obtain the corresponding approval of the main change for subsequent deliveries of aircraft to airlines.
Yakovlev clarified that this particular aircraft performed a non-stop flight from Irkutsk to the airfield of the M.M. Gromov Flight Research Institute on November 13. The start of flight tests under the certification program was preceded by successful flights as part of factory refinement tests.
As a reminder, the aircraft is already equipped with a wing made of Russian polymer composite materials and PD-14 engines.
