The Ural Interregional Department of RosPrirodnadzor has initiated an unscheduled on-site inspection of the Uralvagonzavod Concern (UVZ, part of the Rostec Group). The inspection began on November 24 and will last until December 5.
The inspection activities will take place at the company's production site in Nizhny Tagil.
The reason for the supervisory authority's unscheduled visit is not specified in the unified register of inspections. As a reminder, 100% of the concern's shares are owned by Rostec.
Uralvagonzavod is a key manufacturer of the latest T-90M "Proryv" tanks, modernized T-72B3M tanks, and T-14 "Armata" tanks. The company also produces road construction machines and railway cars.
Rumors had previously spread online that a large-scale wave of layoffs was allegedly being prepared at UVZ. The company's director, Vladimir Roshchupkin, stated that this was misinformation, and the plant actually needs new employees.
