The Lada Azimut crossover will be certified in 2026, according to AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov.
Certification will be completed before the start of assembly line production. The model will go on sale next year.
100 cars were produced for certification tests. The cars were assembled using pre-production technology and assembly line methods.
Production of the Lada Azimut is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Sales of the new product will begin between the second and third quarters.
The base Lada Azimut will be equipped with upgraded 1.6 and 1.8 liter engines producing 120 and 132 hp, paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. In future versions, the automaker plans to offer a 150 hp turbocharged engine with a classic automatic transmission.
