AvtoVAZ has for the first time taken a production Lada Azimut crossover to public roads, with sales scheduled for next year. The model is built on a redesigned Lada Vesta platform and features nearly a thousand new and improved components.
The crossover has updated body panels, modern lighting, a redesigned interior, and an improved rear suspension, which enhances comfort and handling.
It is also worth noting that the car has "joker" license plates that are not tied to a specific make or model. AvtoVAZ traditionally uses such state registration plates for prototypes with the permission of the traffic police.
The Lada Azimut model will be equipped with two gasoline engines: 1.6 L (120 hp) and 1.8 L (132 hp) with a manual gearbox and a CVT, and later a turbocharged 1.8 L (150 hp) engine with a classic automatic transmission will appear. The dimensions of the crossover are 4416×1838×1607 mm with a wheelbase of 2675 mm.
AvtoVAZ has already presented a video of tests on the legendary factory track in Togliatti, confirming the reliability and dynamics of the model.
