AvtoVAZ continues to implement the project to introduce new naturally aspirated engines for Lada cars. The work is on schedule. This was announced by the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov.
The new engine will first be installed on the Azimut, and then other Lada models will receive it. The entire range includes engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters.
The project started at the end of 2024. The 1.8-liter engine will be equipped with phase shifters at the intake and exhaust to increase power up to 132 hp and torque up to 180 Nm. The second 1.6-liter engine will receive a phase shifter at the intake (power will be 120 hp and torque about 160 Nm)
