Scientists and engineers at TUSUR are developing an active phased array antenna. This import-substituted device will be used in new generation communication systems. It will be placed on board spacecraft. The engineers' developments can be used to create a satellite constellation. The information was shared by the university's press service.
The project is aimed at developing AESA components: small-scale technology for manufacturing microwave integrated circuits based on gallium arsenide and gallium nitride materials that meet standards and are applicable in communication systems. Currently, our country also lacks this class of microcircuits with high linearity and high efficiency.
The device is being developed jointly with the company "Reshetnev". Transceiver modules, a power supply system and a microwave power amplifier have been created. Technical documentation is also ready. It is planned that the production of AESA electronic components will begin in 2028.
