The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Dmitry Yadrov, said that the agency is carefully considering the Tango light training aircraft, developed by S7 Group, to equip its flight schools. However, no order has yet been placed for the aircraft, as the Tango has not yet been certified.
We have only just received the certification application. It is too early to talk about an order. Basically, what is embedded there - engine capacity, speed on the final approach, piloting characteristics, issues related to instrument flight rules - suits us. It is important that the aircraft is being created according to the technical specifications agreed with us.
Earlier, the S7 Group press service clarified that the aircraft is undergoing factory tests, and certification tests with a domestic engine will begin in 2026. Deliveries of serial Tango aircraft to educational institutions are scheduled for 2027.
The estimated cost of the aircraft is 100 million rubles.
