The Russian self-propelled artillery gun 2S44 "Hyacinth-K" demonstrated hitting a target at a distance of more than 30 kilometers. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, noting that the new self-propelled gun confirms the stated characteristics in terms of range and accuracy of fire.
The department clarified that the 2S44 "Hyacinth-K" is designed to suppress enemy command posts, artillery batteries, fortified areas and other critical infrastructure.
The new modification received an improved fire control system, which made it possible to speed up the calculation of ballistics and reduce the time between target detection and destruction. It is additionally reported that the mobility of the installation was increased thanks to the modernized chassis and updated protection elements.
According to experts, the increased firing range makes the 2S44 one of the most sought-after artillery solutions in the modern army.
Experts note that the self-propelled gun is capable of operating effectively both autonomously and as part of networked intelligence and fire support systems.
