Rosatom has created nuclear fuel for the under-construction nuclear icebreaker Chukotka of Project 22220. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
The scope of supply includes fuel assemblies, absorbing elements of compensating groups, control rods, and sleeves of the control and protection system for both reactors of the nuclear-powered ship.
The next stage is the production of nuclear fuel for the icebreakers Leningrad and Stalingrad.
The nuclear icebreaker Chukotka of Project 22220 has entered the final stretch of preparations for mooring trials. The contract for the construction of the vessel was concluded between FSUE Atomflot (part of Rosatom State Corporation) and the Baltic Shipyard in August 2019.
