Construction of a modern floating dock of project 28140S continues at the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard in Arkhangelsk. According to the "Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Corporation" (SSK), all ten blocks of the structure have been delivered and docked at the enterprise, and the dock hull has already acquired its final shape.
Work on the facility is in an active phase. Currently, specialists are equipping the dock with equipment and ship systems, most of which have already been delivered to the site. In parallel, the installed units are being checked and adjusted - this is the first stage of mooring tests. The floating dock is scheduled for delivery in October 2026.
The construction contract was concluded in December 2023 between PJSC "SSK" and JSC "Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center", which is part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). The customer is the "Zvezdochka" branch - the "Krasnaya Kuznitsa" plant. The project was developed by the Si Tech group and is being built under the class of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. The dock was laid down on April 16, 2024 at the SSK production site in Gorodets, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The new floating dock, 150 meters long, 38 meters wide and 13.65 meters high, will be able to submerge to a depth of 9.8 meters and be serviced by a crew of 25 people. It will replace the oldest dock of the enterprise - PD-47, built back in 1953. Thanks to the introduction of the new design, "Krasnaya Kuznitsa" will be able to increase the number of repairs of ships and vessels, including large-tonnage objects.
