Belarusian airline Belavia has become the first foreign user of the Russian digital air-to-ground communication system (analogous to the international ACARS standard). This was announced by the Rostec State Corporation, which is implementing the project in conjunction with the developer company Azimuth.
The system is designed for data exchange between aircraft crews and ground control services in real time. It transmits flight instructions, weather reports, technical parameters, and signals about emergency situations. The solution completely replaces foreign services, access to which was limited due to sanctions.
According to Rostec, the domestic service is already used by major Russian airlines such as Aeroflot and S7. The connection of Belavia is an important step in the development of international application of the technology and confirmation of its competitiveness in the foreign market.
Azimuth's development is based on modern Russian software solutions and certified in accordance with aviation safety requirements. The use of the system allows carriers to optimize fleet management, speed up information exchange and reduce operating costs.
