The new multifunctional army buggy "Tachanka," created with the support of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly and the "Aurora" Foundation, is being prepared for small-scale production. This was reported by the press service of the legislative body of the Northern capital.
The multifunctional transport is designed for evacuating the wounded, delivering medicines, and supplying ammunition to military personnel.
The light tactical buggy has been tested by various units of the Ministry of Defense and Rosgvardia.
After the tests, a number of significant design changes were made to the "Tachanka." Currently, 99% of the buggy's components are Russian-made, and 1% are Chinese, Shmakov added.
After the driving tests, the "Tachanka" will be sent to the Guards Motorized Rifle Leningrad Regiment. It includes military personnel from St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Arkhangelsk, and Murmansk regions, as well as the Komi Republic.
