The crew was able to steer the aircraft away from military positions. As a result of the crash, all crew members died.

Il-76 is a Soviet and Russian heavy military transport aircraft developed by the Ilyushin Design Bureau. The aircraft was mass-produced at the Tashkent Aviation Production Association named after V. P. Chkalov in Uzbekistan.

In 2010, the production of the aircraft was officially transferred to Russia at the Aviastar-SP plant in Ulyanovsk, where currently an updated version of the Il-114-300 is being produced.
