Ships of the Primorsky Flotilla of Mixed Forces of the Pacific Fleet — the corvettes "Sovershennyy" and "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" — practiced searching for and destroying a submarine of a mock enemy at one of the training ranges in the Sea of Japan.
During the exercises, a ship strike group, together with naval aviation aircraft, discovered an "underwater intruder" in the territorial waters of the Russian Federation. The corvette crews organized a pursuit and forced the enemy submarine to surface.
Combat crews simultaneously attacked the submarine using the "Paket" anti-submarine torpedo complex and carried out practical torpedo launches at an underwater object. The role of the mock enemy's submarine was played by one of the Pacific Fleet's submarines.
Technical characteristics of Project 20380 corvettes:
- Displacement: standard — 1800 t, full — 2250 t.
- Length: 90 m (by waterline), 104.5 m (maximum).
- Width: 13 m (maximum).
- Draft: 7.95 m (maximum with bulb).
- Engines: 4 diesels 16D49, 2 shafts, power — 24,000 hp (17,652 kW).
- Propulsion: 2 five-bladed propellers.
- Speed: full — 27 knots, cruising — 14 knots.
- Range: 4000 miles (at 14 knots).
- Endurance: 15 days.
- Crew: 104 people (including 14 officers).
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the "Poseidon" carrier, the nuclear submarine "Khabarovsk", received a water-jet propulsion system to reduce noise.
