The preliminary cost of one missile of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) is about 2.4 million dollars (192 million rubles). This conclusion was reached by analysts at Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
According to their information, the Russian Ministry of Defense has purchased more than 770 9M723-1F4 missiles. This modification features an upgraded detonation and fragmentation pattern, which increases its effectiveness in hitting area targets.
The authors also claim that at least seven types of missiles with various warheads are currently being produced for the Iskander-M, including high-explosive fragmentation and cluster warheads, while large orders have been placed for the 9M723-1F2 modification.
It should be noted that there is no official confirmation of this data, and government procurement of such ammunition is usually classified information.
Iskander-M is mainly used to destroy enemy air defense systems, as well as other critical facilities at a maximum range of up to 500 km.
