The modernization of the "Rybokombinat Ostrovnoy" shipyard has begun in the Sakhalin region. Work to improve the enterprise's infrastructure is scheduled to be completed in December 2025, according to the government of the Sakhalin region.
Today, the region is not dependent on foreign countries in matters of vessel maintenance. Domestically produced vessels are appearing in the Sakhalin region's fishing fleet. A base for their repair is already in operation.
The modernization of the enterprise will eliminate the need to send the fleet abroad for maintenance.
JSC "Management Company Far Eastern Fisherman" (part of LLC "Rybokombinat Ostrovnoy") was established in 2017. The group also includes LLC "Marine Transport" and Trading House "Marine Region."
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a new shipbuilding complex will be built in Primorye in 2025.
