The wreckage of another universal planning and correction module (UMPC) of increased range with FAB-500T has surfaced online. The system has undergone significant changes that have affected the range and accuracy of use.
This version of the module allows the installation of a jet engine for an even greater increase in flight range, military experts noted. The UMPC received two full-fledged ailerons and a rudder, which will significantly increase the maneuverability of the module when approaching the target.
Also, presumably, a radio altimeter antenna appeared on the lower surface, which will allow the implementation of an air burst.
All these improvements significantly increase the cost of the new version of the UMPC, but at the same time also significantly increase its flight range, maneuverability and application efficiency in general.
As a reminder, the main carriers of air bombs with UMPC are currently Su-34 and Su-35S fighters.
