About 170,000 pages and channels with an audience of more than 10,000 subscribers have been officially authorized by Roskomnadzor. This was announced by Ekaterina Larina, Director of the Department for the Development of Mass Communications of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.
The initiative is being implemented as part of the law on the deanonymization of owners of popular pages. From November 1, 2024, all users whose accounts on social networks and messengers have more than 10,000 subscribers are required to provide their data to Roskomnadzor. The measure is aimed at increasing the transparency of the media space and the responsibility of authors of large platforms.
To date, over 168,000 pages have been registered in the Roskomnadzor register. At the same time, more than 300,000 applications were submitted. The main reason for the rejection is insufficient audience
According to her, many bloggers with a number of subscribers slightly less than 10,000 also want to be authorized, but face legal restrictions.
