Russians should be careful when choosing a used car whose price is below the market price. Auto-criminalist Maxim Shelkov spoke about the main risks of acquiring such a vehicle.
The specialist believes that such a car is highly likely to have legal problems. For example, a vehicle may be seized by a court decision, or the seller may be aware of a possible bankruptcy and rush to get rid of the car. Also, it should not be ruled out that the car has hidden defects.
No one just sells cars at the bottom of the market. Any such car requires a detailed check taking into account many factors: you need to check the owner against the database of the bailiff service, the arbitration court, carefully check the car itself and indicate the full price in the sales contract.
He added that engine defects can be temporarily masked with additives for fuel and oil, while transmission malfunctions can be hidden by resetting the settings to minimize jerks when shifting.
