Unmanned Nuclear Device Capable of Destroying Aircraft Carrier Groups and Coastal Infrastructure

The Poseidon underwater unmanned complex with a nuclear power plant is capable of delivering a critical strike against enemy naval bases and aircraft carrier strike groups. This was stated by military expert Alexander Stepanov from the Institute of Law and National Security of the RANEPA.

According to him, the device is capable of secretly moving at a depth of up to 1,000 meters, traveling almost unlimited distances, and developing speeds of up to 130 km/h. Stepanov emphasized that no army in the world currently has the means to detect such autonomous underwater systems in a timely manner.

The expert noted that the zone of guaranteed destruction exceeds 25 kilometers. Considering the location of key industrial and financial infrastructure of the USA and Great Britain in coastal areas, the "Poseidon", according to Stepanov, creates a strategic-level threat for them.

This capability of the device creates a factor of automatic deterrence, preventing Washington from making decisions that threaten Russia's security, in accordance with the American military-political doctrine.

Earlier www1.ru reported that one of the military experts revealed the characteristics of the Poseidon nuclear torpedo.
