The radar system of the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun system (SAM) is capable of detecting and neutralizing small targets, including reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) measuring 30 by 30 cm. This will deprive a potential enemy of the chance to conduct aerial reconnaissance. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The radar systems of modern anti-aircraft systems allow operators to detect both large objects in the sky, such as cruise and ballistic missiles, helicopters, airplanes, or MLRS shells, and very small ones. Such as, for example, very small drones that can be used for reconnaissance of the area and as kamikaze drones.
The department added that the complex is capable of simultaneously identifying and tracking dozens of targets. The SAM system is armed with 12 anti-aircraft guided missiles and two paired anti-aircraft guns, guaranteeing a barrage of fire of 5,000 rounds per minute. According to the Russian military, the effectiveness of the anti-aircraft system is 100%.
Earlierwww1.ru reported thatthe Russian anti-drone complex "Impulse-Air Defense" was presented by the company "Gumich RTK."
