A comfortable environment for passengers with children will be created in all areas of the transport industry in Russia. The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Andrey Nikitin. The document is published on the agency's website.
The Minister approved methodological recommendations aimed at introducing the principle of family-centeredness. This includes a new "Standard of transport service for passengers with children."
Nikitin's order provides for the creation of the necessary infrastructure in transport:
- allocation of parking spaces for families with children
- installation of child seats and boosters in taxis and buses
- organization of children's play areas in airports and railway stations
Earlier, the speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, stated that special check-in counters for families with children should appear at airports. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation supported this proposal.
In February 2025, it became known about the development by State Duma deputies of a bill that limits the growth of "children's" tariffs in taxis. The document prohibits carriers from increasing the cost of trips with children by more than 5% of the base rate.
