The delivery included 42,000 pieces of equipment with a total weight of 555 tons. The system includes control cabinets, controllers, computing modules, and auxiliary components for the operation of automated process control systems (I&C) and reactor protection control.

Installation and commissioning of I&C equipment are key steps towards the commissioning of the first power unit. Currently, most of the control and safety systems have already been installed. In the future, a thorough check of the equipment will be carried out as part of the cold and hot run-in of the reactor plant.

Akkuyu NPP will be the first nuclear power plant in the Republic of Turkey and is being built under the leadership of Rosatom. The project includes four power units with Russian-designed VVER generation 3+ reactors, each with a capacity of 1,200 MW. It will also be the first project in the global nuclear industry to be implemented using the Build-Own-Operate model.

Earlier www1.ru reported that electricity generation at the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP will begin in 2026.
