The new "Burevestnik" cruise missile is distinguished by its ability to launch not only from air or surface carriers, but also from ground-based mobile launchers. This makes it an extremely dangerous weapon due to its high mobility, and also allows it to be deployed in any part of the world, according to Alexander Stepanov, a research fellow at the Institute of Law and National Security of the RANEPA.
He noted that "Burevestnik" is primarily intended to destroy buried command posts and strategic military command and control bodies. Its destructive capability makes the weapon extremely dangerous, versatile, and maximally destructive.
"Burevestnik" is low-observable and virtually invulnerable due to its ability to move to a given point along a complex trajectory for an unlimited amount of time at extremely low altitudes of up to 50 m.
Stepanov added that in the event of a mass combined launch of such missiles, a global coverage zone of strategic-level high-precision weapons is created.
Russia has fully completed testing of the latest "Burevestnik" cruise missile with unlimited range. During the tests, the munition was in the air for about 15 hours and traveled 14,000 km.
Theoretically, due to the nuclear installation on board, "Burevestnik" can circumnavigate the entire Earth several times. Note that official information about the type of missile carrier has not yet been received.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the designer spoke about the trick of the new "Tsar Bomba" with a planning module and GPS.
