The training sailing ship "Nadezhda" covered more than 11.5 thousand nautical miles in the 2025 navigation season. This was reported on October 22 at the Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy.
The third shift of sailing practice for cadets lasted from August 23 to October 22. The frigate returned to the seaport of Vladivostok, where it anchored until the beginning of November. The cadets were taken to berth No. 1 on the passenger boat "Orient" of FSUE "Rosmorport".
According to the captain of the ship, Sergey Vorobyov, on the last day of the shift, the cadets removed and stowed the sails to protect the equipment for the winter period. For two months, 75 cadets mastered maritime affairs under the guidance of four mentors and the crew: they stood watch, worked as helmsmen and engine operators, participated in sail handling, and attended theoretical classes. In total, 248 future sailors were trained during the season.
The route included the coasts of Sakhalin, the Kuril Islands, and Kamchatka, as well as a landing on Bering Island of the Commander Islands archipelago in honor of the 300th anniversary of the First Kamchatka Expedition. The cadets honored the memory of Russian pioneers at a rally in the village of Nikolskoye.
The sailing ship also visited the Shantar Islands and Wrangel Bay, where biologists gave lectures on board about Greenland whales. The cadets observed dolphins, killer whales, seals, and whales.
Twice, "Nadezhda" hosted guests of the "Open Board" festival in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky: in July - 3.8 thousand people, in September - 7 thousand residents and guests of the city. In Vladivostok, the ship led the international parade of sails at the Eastern Economic Forum. An agreement on joint training of personnel between FSUE "Rosmorport" and the Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy was signed on board.
