Способ снижения стоимости титановых имплантов суставов нашли в МАИ

Scientists' research aims to improve the quality and reduce the cost of production

Scientists at the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) have developed a project aimed at improving the efficiency and reducing the cost of titanium implants for knee and hip joints. The university's press service announced the creation of a complex but highly effective process for processing products to increase their wear resistance.

If we implement quality management methods, we can reduce their price and make them more accessible to people in need.
Evgenia Smirnova, project author

The work of scientists consists of integrating quality and risk management methods into the technological process of ion-plasma nitriding of titanium products. This process creates a thin but very hard protective layer on the surface of the products, which significantly increases their wear resistance and reduces friction. This helps to increase the service life of implants and improve their functionality, while maintaining the necessary biocompatibility.
