«Perviy Element» is preparing the country's first plant for the production of alkaline batteries in Moscow. It is planned to produce three categories of AA and AAA batteries — «Eco», «Optimum» and «Premium» — with release on marketplaces and in retail chains from the end of 2025.
In parallel, the company will launch a pilot project by the end of the year to use raw materials from used batteries. This will allow the extraction of manganese dioxide and zinc, necessary for new batteries, through electrolysis at the Yaroslavl recycling plant of the National Ecological Company (NEC). Batteries made from recycled material are not inferior in characteristics to products made from new raw materials.
If the pilot project proves successful, batteries based on recycled raw materials will go on sale in the summer of 2026. Such a closed cycle will reduce the cost of new materials and solve the problem of disposing of used elements.
