The first mobile energy storage device under the "Rosseti" brand was presented in Moscow at the "Russian Energy Week" forum. The truck is built on the Chinese JAC N120 chassis and is equipped with a 100 kW battery with a capacity of 150 kWh. The production is handled by "Amperion" company from the "Rosnano" group.
The new "truck-storage" is positioned as a mobile charging station for electric vehicles and a source of temporary power supply. However, experts assess the project with restraint.
Auto expert Alexey Kovanov notes that the battery capacity is too small for real charging of electric cars or electric buses. "Modern electric crossovers have batteries of 100 kWh, and Moscow electric buses have more than 200 kWh. So 150 kWh is not much," he said.
The expert also questions the choice of platform. Experts do not understand why the Chinese JAC chassis was chosen for the project, presented as "Russian", and not GAZ or KAMAZ equipment. In their opinion, the use of domestic chassis would look more logical and would emphasize the status of an innovative national product.
Nevertheless, experts consider the very approach to creating mobile storage devices promising. Similar solutions have already been proposed abroad: for example, in 2016, Nissan used used batteries from Leaf electric vehicles for such trucks, and in Russia, similar ideas were considered by MOESK and KAMAZ.
