The fate of the once-famous Novosibirsk plant «Sibselmash» became the subject of discussion at a recent meeting in Moscow between State Duma deputies and Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov.
In the past, the flagship of the region's industry faced bankruptcy proceedings, which led to the sale of its production facilities by individual workshops. Despite this, the initiative to restore its activities has been repeatedly raised.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, in turn, assured that he would investigate the circumstances concerning the enterprise and instructed to collect comprehensive information on this issue.
In Soviet times, «Sibselmash» was engaged in the production of agricultural machinery, mining equipment, shut-off valves and other products. The plant also produced defense products — shells for the famous «Katyusha», and in some periods its share reached 70% of the total production volume.
