It is planned to expand the territory on Russky Island by 0.57 hectares. The new area will be used in winter for parking icebreakers and storing their spare parts. The corresponding project was published on the official legal information portal of the city of Vladivostok.
According to the documents, as part of the large-scale restoration of the object, soil from the rocks will be poured into the water near berth No. 6. A warehouse, treatment facilities will be built on the new site, and lighting systems will be installed. Work will also be carried out to strengthen the banks to prevent their destruction.
Water for construction needs is planned to be taken from the city water supply, while dirty water will not be discharged into the water area, but will be taken to the city's treatment facilities. Thus, the construction should not affect the ecology of water bodies.
The icebreakers "Kapitan Khlebnikov", "Moscow", "Saint-Petersburg" and the tugboat "Emar", as well as the icebreaker "Kapitan Dranitsyn", now owned by "Rosmorport", will be able to moor at this site.
Authorities claim that without the construction of this site, the icebreakers will not have a place to park, which will lead to an increase in government spending on their maintenance.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new Russian radar for satellite systems has been tested on board an aircraft.
