From January to September 2025, 16 new cars as part of the "Baltiets" model trains arrived on the Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya (brown) line of the St. Petersburg metro. This was announced by the Vice-Governor of the Northern Capital, Kirill Polyakov.
In total, 15 "Baltiets" model trains run in the St. Petersburg metro. 64 cars were delivered to the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya line, 8 to the Frunzensko-Primorskaya line, and 16 to the Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya line.

About the "Baltiets" trains
The metro car has been produced since 2022 at AO "Metrovagonmash" in the Moscow region. The final assembly (installation of doors and electrical equipment) is carried out at the Oktyabrsky Electric Car Repair Plant in St. Petersburg.
"Baltiets" is a completely Russian development with a high degree of localization. It includes a motor head car, a motor intermediate car, and a trailer intermediate car. Their number in one metro train varies from 5 to 8.
Characteristics of the cars for the "Baltiets" train:
- Capacity - 1478 passengers (in a 5-car train)
- There are places for passengers with limited mobility
- Ventilation and air disinfection system
- Video surveillance system
- Over-door LCD displays with LCD screens, information board

- Maximum speed - 80 km/h
