A new Soueast S06 crossover is preparing to debut on the Russian market, which will be assembled at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. According to Rosstandart, the car has received Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS), which means it is ready for mass production and sales.
Soueast S06 will become a localized version of the popular Chinese crossover Jetour Dashing. The model is adapted to Russian requirements and will offer customers two modifications with gasoline turbo engines. The basic version is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 156 hp paired with a six-speed "robot", and a more powerful version will receive a 1.6-liter unit with 197 hp and a seven-speed 7DCT gearbox.
The design and technical platform are fully consistent with the original Jetour Dashing - a modern coupe-like crossover with an expressive appearance, a digital instrument panel and a large touch screen multimedia display. At the same time, Russian assembly should provide better adaptation to the climate and operating conditions, including suspension settings and heating systems.
The launch of Soueast S06 will be part of Avtotor's strategy to expand the range of Chinese brands produced in Russia. The plant already produces Kaiyi, BAIC and SWM cars, and Soueast will become the fourth partner from China.
