In October 2024, 98,156 new Chinese-brand passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is a record figure for the entire time that cars from China have been present on the Russian market.
In October, several Chinese brands demonstrated record sales volumes. For example, Haval sold 23,801 cars, Geely — 17,163, Jetour — 4,020, GAC — 2,572, and Hongqi — 860.
Sales of popular Chinese models also reached new heights last month. For example, 11,387 units of Haval Jolion were purchased, Geely Monjaro – 5,202, Haval F7 – 3,063, Haval H3 – 2,039, Jetour Dashing – 1,731, GAC GS8 – 1,530, Haval H9 – 939.
It is worth noting that the previous maximum was reached in September, when 93,175 cars were sold.
However, in November, the new passenger car market experienced a decrease in demand after the recycling fee was indexed. In a week, sales of new cars fell by a quarter. This trend was especially evident in Moscow, where the market decreased by 42.4% compared to the previous week and by 22.6% year-on-year.
