Из углей и опилок: новое композитное порошковое топливо разработали в Новосибирске

The composite can be used in modern furnace equipment

At the S. S. Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics and the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the SB RAS, a unique composite powder fuel was created from waste from woodworking industries and coal. This was reported by the publication "Science in Siberia."

It has increased ignitability, increases the degree of burnout of the fuels used, and ensures stable combustion even for low-reactivity coals (anthracite). The resulting composite can be used in modern furnace equipment.

Experts chose pine sawdust with a high heat of combustion. Instead of traditional mixing of components, the sawdust was subjected to mechanoactivation grinding in a pre-mixed form. This approach made it possible to reduce the ignition delay time by 20-30% and ensure more stable combustion at high temperature.

In addition, the composite helps to evenly release synthesis gas during gasification. This type of fuel is ideal for coal-fired power plants.

The development is at the stage of experimental testing.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian nuclear scientists have started the final testing of innovative REMIX fuel.
