The first flight of the MiG-41 fighter may take place in the coming years, according to Vladimir Popov, Honored Test Pilot of Russia. According to him, the new interceptor is being created as part of the PAK DP program and will become a development of Soviet achievements.
The MiG-41 is undergoing the refinement stage, and its final appearance has already been formed. According to Popov, the designers are using accumulated previous experience.
I think that in the next few years we will see the first flight of the new interceptor. Our designers have a wealth of groundwork, we have taken on old projects and are turning them into metal. Nothing is lost in this endeavor.
The MiG-41 is being developed as part of the program for a prospective long-range interception aviation complex (PAK DP). According to open sources, the aircraft will be able to reach speeds of over Mach 4, intercept hypersonic targets even in near space, and also be equipped with the latest onboard electronics.
The Mikoyan Design Bureau (OKB) noted that they will develop a new MiG to train for flights on sixth-generation aircraft.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that An-124 "Ruslan" delivered an American fighter from the war era to Moscow.
