Кластер по глубокой переработке редкоземельных металлов начнет работу в Красноярске с 2026 года

The center will become part of the Mendeleev Valley INTC and will focus on scientific research and industrial processing of REM

A scientific and technological cluster for the deep processing of rare and rare earth metals (REM) will begin operating in Krasnoyarsk in 2026, which will become part of the Innovation Scientific and Technological Center (INTC) "Mendeleev Valley".

SFU, together with the D. I. Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology, co-initiated the creation of the INTC. The center will become the scientific and technological core of the cluster and will have a distributed structure: a site in Moscow based at the RHTU named after Mendeleev, a Krasnoyarsk site based at SFU and the scientific center of the SB RAS, as well as a technology park zone near Minusinsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory).

An international center of competence in the critical metals industry will open at SFU with laboratories for research and development both for state orders and at the request of industry. The center will start operating actively from the beginning of 2026.

The cluster will include a scientific and technological core, a raw material part with promising rare earth deposits in Eastern Siberia, and production facilities for the deep processing of metals in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia.

The development of such industries is critical for digital devices, wireless communications, lithium-ion batteries, power electronics, renewable energy, electric vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
