Avtotor, the company producing the "AmberAuto A5" electric sedans (based on the Chinese JMEV Yi), has drastically reduced the price of the car. In July, the "electric car" could be bought from 1.6 million rubles. This influenced the brand's popularity among Russians.
Thus, 34 electric vehicles were sold in July, 90 in August, and 101 in the three weeks of September. At the same time, Avtotor managed to sell only 149 cars in the first year of sales.
The company's website states that its goal is to become the leader in the Russian electric vehicle market and reach 1,000 sales by the end of this year.
The "AmberAuto A5" is equipped with an electric synchronous motor with permanent magnets. Its power is 160 hp (118 kW), and the torque reaches 225 N·m. The power reserve declared by the manufacturer is 520 km.
