The reconstruction of the airfield infrastructure continues at Makhachkala (Uytash) Airport. Currently, the overall readiness is 50%.
Concrete laying work on the new runway is almost complete — 85% readiness. A patrol road, two transformer substations, and modern fences with video surveillance to ensure security have already been built on the airport territory.
A new checkpoint is ready, which will house a fuel filling station
The project includes the construction of a runway 3200 m long and 45 m wide, the reconstruction of an apron for 8 aircraft, and the installation of modern equipment.
The new airfield infrastructure will be built taking into account seismic standards and will allow receiving aircraft of any type, even in difficult weather conditions
According to the press service, the seismic activity at the construction site is very high and amounts to just over 8 points.
The reconstruction of the airport will not only increase the number of flights and passenger traffic, but also expand the route network, which will positively affect the development of the region's tourism industry. It is important to note that the existing runway continues to operate without restrictions during the reconstruction.
The works are carried out within the framework of the national project «Effective transport system».
