The Northern Fleet frigate "Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov" of Project 22350 has departed from the city of Severomorsk and set off on a long voyage. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The crew has completed all tasks in the Barents Sea in accordance with the course of combat training for vessels and surface ships of the Navy (VMF).
The main task of the voyage is to ensure a naval presence in operationally important areas of the far oceanic zone and to demonstrate the flag.
The armament of the Project 22350 frigates includes "Onyx" or "Caliber" anti-ship missiles, the "Paket-NK" anti-submarine torpedo complex, the "Poliment-Redut" anti-aircraft missile system, and an artillery installation. A Ka-27 helicopter can be based on board the ships.
