They will manage without Siemens: spare parts for the foreign engine turbine SGT-700 will be replaced by KMZ with import substitution

The total investment in the project is 500 million rubles

The military-industrial holding "Kiningisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ) (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC), will replace Siemens turbine blades with import substitution. This was announced by Mikhail Danilenko, Managing Director of KMZ.

KMZ, as part of USC, within the framework of a federal project to support projects involving the development of design documentation for component products necessary for industries, will replace a set of spare parts for the SGT-700 engine turbine with import substitution. The total investment in the project is 400 million rubles, with another 100 million rubles from extra-budgetary funds.

Siemens turbine blades are designed to operate in high temperature and load conditions, converting the power of expanded gas into mechanical work and, ultimately, into electricity. The production process plans to use materials similar to those used in Siemens products, but from a Russian production base.

As part of the project, design and technological documentation will be developed, prototypes will be manufactured, and accelerated bench tests will be carried out as part of the Siemens SGT-700 turbine. The purpose of the tests is to confirm a MTBF of at least 300 hours. Work on the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.

The planned market volume for new blades is estimated at more than 800 million rubles from the end of 2027 to 2030, which emphasizes the importance of this project for the Russian energy industry.
