The production of the legendary TDT-55 Onezhets tractors has been established on a piece-by-piece basis to order at one of the enterprises in Petrozavodsk. Outwardly, the new machines are practically no different from their Soviet predecessors.
TDT-55 is a diesel skidding tractor developed by Petrozavodsk designers in 1960-1964. Initially, it was intended for removing wood from logging sites. Soon the tractor was recognized as the world's first tracked chassis, which could be adapted for mounting various attachments. This opened up new opportunities for using the machine in other industries.
Over time, more than 20 factories began to purchase TDT-55 tractors as a base for the serial production of equipment for various purposes. For 35 years of serial production, OTZ produced more than 200 thousand tractors of this model. They were used not only in Russia, but also exported to many countries — GDR, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, France, Norway, Finland, Spain, Canada, Iran, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil, Nigeria, New Zealand and others.
Technical characteristics of TDT-55:
- Overall dimensions: length — 5850 mm, width — 2357 mm, height — 2560 mm.
- Weight — 9600 kg.
- Ground clearance — 555 mm.
- Fuel tank capacity — 120 l.
- TDT-55 was equipped with SMD-14BN, SMD-18N, MMZ D-245 engines (on later releases).
