TMH-Elektrotech LLC has assessed the readiness of the production site for the production of the GPP-840 DC traction generator. These electric machines are used in TEM18DM shunting locomotives.
GPP-840 is a part of the diesel generator set of a locomotive, which is designed to power traction electric motors and has a power of 840 kW. The product is equipped with a current winding for short-term use as a starter motor powered by a battery to start the diesel engine.
Previously, the company was only engaged in the manufacture of armatures for GPP-840 generators, and the final assembly was carried out at the Penzadieselmash plant. The production of generators began in 2021.
Following the meeting of the qualification commission, a decision was made on the readiness of TMH-Elektrotech for the serial production of traction generators. The next step is to obtain a certificate of compliance with the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union, after which the company will begin production of a pilot batch.
Earlier www1.ru reported that TMH had developed the first 18-9DGM-02 diesel generator for the TE26 locomotive.
