The proposal to sell "fancy" numbers on "Gosuslugi" was made by the leader of the "New People" faction, Alexei Nechaev. He noted that the legal framework is already ready, but the decision is being delayed.
Nechaev's proposal is not new. Discussions about the possibility of selling fancy numbers have been going on for several years. Supporters of this idea point to the experience of other countries, where this practice has been successfully implemented and brings significant income to the treasury. Opponents fear that this will create a breeding ground for corruption and exacerbate social inequality, as only wealthy citizens will be able to afford to purchase such numbers.
