Military expert Boris Dzherelievsky commented on the completely new capabilities of anti-tank weapons and the effectiveness of FPV drones in destroying tanks.
In the current situation, let's just say, the tank will still have to win its niche on the modern battlefield.
The specialist added that this applies not only to foreign equipment, but also to Russian main battle tanks that are in service with Russia.
Military conflicts around the world have highlighted the vulnerability of tanks to threats from above, whether it be artillery ammunition, cluster bombs, or, in particular, kamikaze drones. Outdated protection methods, such as dynamic protection and lattice screens, have proven insufficient against modern means of destruction designed specifically to penetrate armor in the most vulnerable places.
"But our tanks are more maneuverable and have better cross-country ability compared to foreign ones", the expert noted.
Earlier, www1 reported that Russian Geran-3 jet drones have become invulnerable to electronic warfare systems.
