Russian military personnel have created a self-propelled mortar based on the GAZ-66 "Shishiga" truck. A 120 mm caliber gun with drives was placed in the closed body of the truck.
The drives facilitate the deployment of the gun in position. Thanks to this, the mortar crews can quickly leave the area after hitting the target.
The two-axle "Shishiga" is also equipped with a large "barbecue", which protects the cabin from kamikaze drones. In addition, the car received camouflage nets, allowing it to be hidden.
GAZ-66 is a Soviet and Russian medium-tonnage all-terrain truck with a 4 × 4 wheel arrangement, a carrying capacity of 2 tons, and a cab above the engine and a mechanical 5-speed gearbox. The transfer case is two-stage.
The car received the army nickname "Shishiga" from the abbreviation "sixty-six".
