A video has surfaced online showing a Russian Su-27 fighter jet driving a US F-15 away from a Tu-22M3 strategic missile-carrying bomber.
The footage shows an F-15, apparently during a patrol, approaching the Russian "strategist." However, the escort included a Su-27, which with a bold aerial maneuver drove the foreign aircraft away from the Tu-22M3, discouraging further observation.
Long-range aviation crews on Tu-22M3, Tu-95MS, and Tu-160 aircraft regularly fly over the neutral waters of the North Atlantic, Arctic, Pacific Ocean, Black Sea, and Baltic Sea.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has emphasized that all flights are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.
The Su-27 is one of the main symbols of Russian aviation. Fighter jets created on its base are among the most sought-after in the world. Since 2000 alone, about 700 aircraft of this family have been delivered abroad.
