The Russian front-line fighter-bomber Su-34 can be called the most important combat aircraft created by Russia, analysts at the Western magazine Military Watch Magazine (MWM) concluded.
They noted that the Su-34 was supposed to be the successor to the Su-24M tactical front-line bomber, and also incorporate the best technological achievements of the Su-27 fighter.
Thus, the Su-34 became the most important type of fighter developed by Russia after the collapse of the USSR. In this regard, it competed only with the only Russian fifth-generation fighter - Su-57.
The publication emphasized that in recent years the Su-34 has undergone a major modernization. In particular, it received universal reconnaissance containers (UKR) "Sych" in three versions - for radar, electronic and optical surveillance.
The systems allow the Su-34 to perform a much wider range of tasks and collect intelligence in real time, while remaining armed for strike operations. Deliveries of the fighter to the troops will continue at least until 2030, MWM added.
