Rostec plans to develop a Russian wide-body long-range aircraft after the completion of the PD-35 engine, according to the head of the state corporation, Sergei Chemezov.
We will try to make our own. As soon as we make the PD-35 engine, we will make our own wide-body aircraft.
Earlier, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) patented a new wide-body long-range aircraft. Footage of the prototype of the new product appeared online.
In the basic version, the capacity of the new aircraft is 281 passengers, and there are also elongated and shortened versions for 320 and 240 seats, respectively. The closest aircraft to the development is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov warned that one should not expect the aircraft in the near future, because a lot of time will pass between the project and the real aircraft will pass a lot of time.
Earlier www1.ru reported that ODK has found a way to reduce the weight of the PD-8 aircraft engine for SJ-100 and Be-200 aircraft.
