The UEC-Klimov enterprise has created and certified a new VK-650V engine with a take-off power of 650 hp in just five years, according to Vsevolod Eliseev, Managing Director of UEC-Klimov.
According to him, the take-off of the Ansat helicopter marked the beginning of a new era of certification tests, which will completely replace the imported engines previously used on this equipment.
The VK-650V engines have great prospects; they can be used on both the Ansat, the Ka-226, and the Mi-34M1 helicopters.
VK-650V became the first Russian engine in this power range
As a reminder, the VK-650V is the first domestic engine for helicopters with a take-off weight of up to 4 tons. The power plant was created at the UEC-Klimov enterprise in St. Petersburg using modern technologies and is equipped with a modern digital dual-channel automatic control system of the FADEC type.
The unit has a power of 650 hp in take-off mode, and up to 750 hp in emergency mode. Previously, helicopter engines in this power range were not created in Russia.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Il-114-300 will increase resource and reliability thanks to new developments.
