According to First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Russia is developing and supplying laser systems to combat drones. It is expected that their use will become more active in the near future, as production volumes increase.
The first video of the combat Russian laser air defense system "Nomad" was published in late June. The video shows a camouflaged complex equipped with a radar and capable of all-round visibility of 360 degrees.
As for laser systems for countering drones, we have developments, we have samples, products that are already being supplied, in small volumes so far. Samples were recently demonstrated, including to me, at the test site, and received a ticket to life and promising orders. I am sure that in the near future, as production volumes increase, these solutions will be actively used.
According to him, there are already samples of such solutions, and products are supplied in small volumes.
In June 2025, Russia tested advanced laser systems for countering unmanned aerial vehicles. As noted in the Cabinet, they will become one of the components of the universal air defense system of Russia.
